Inventory Management

The Inventory Management module is the product and stock master-data area of ZeyOS. It is used to maintain articles, support warehouse-relevant processes, and keep a clear record of inventory-related movement.

What This Page Is For​

Use Inventory Management when you need to maintain sellable or purchasable articles, manage stock-relevant master data, or understand how inventory changes over time.

What You See on the Page​

The module is typically organized around three operational views:

  • Inventory for article master data
  • Devices for serialized or individually tracked assets
  • Transactions for stock movement history

In the live list, visible fields include:

  • Name
  • Manufacturer
  • Article No.
  • Type

Depending on the selected view and tenant configuration, users may also work with pricing, units, stock quantities, reservations, and warehouse-specific data.

Articles, Devices, and Transactions​

  • Articles are the master records for products or services.
  • Devices are individually tracked units, typically for serialized equipment.
  • Transactions show how stock was received, issued, transferred, or adjusted.

Training users on that distinction helps prevent confusion between a product definition and one specific physical unit.

Typical Workflow​

  1. Create or update the article record.
  2. Set the right type, unit, pricing, and commercial applicability.
  3. Use supplier or pricing data where required.
  4. Track serialized units as devices when individual traceability matters.
  5. Review transactions to understand stock movement and corrections.

Inventory Types and Applicability​

The exact type list depends on configuration, but end users usually need to understand a few broad categories:

  • standard stock articles
  • serialized or batch-tracked items
  • non-stock items such as services
  • model or set structures where one article depends on others

Users should also understand whether an article is intended for sales, procurement, or both.
