Create Bundle

The bundle create command creates a bundle file containing selected ZeyOS applications from the current directory.

Bash
zeysdk bundle create [OUTPUT_FILE] [options]

Parameters

ParameterDescriptionRequiredDefaultExample
OUTPUT_FILEBundle filenameNobundlemy-bundle

Options

OptionDescription
-v, --verboseShow discovered, skipped, and selected directories
--apps <list>Comma-separated list of app directories to include
--allInclude all ZeyOS app directories

Process

  1. Directory Scanning

    • Scans the current directory for application folders
    • Skips hidden directories
    • Ignores node_modules and vendor
    • Validates each app by checking zeyos.app.json
  2. App Selection

    • Prompts for apps when no selection option is provided
    • Includes all valid apps with --all
    • Includes listed apps with --apps
    • Sorts selected apps alphabetically in the bundle file
  3. Bundle Output

    • Writes one selected app directory per line
    • Uses bundle as the default filename in non-interactive mode
    • Prompts for an output filename, defaulting to bundle, during a fully interactive run
    • Stores relative directory names from the current folder

Examples

Bash
zeysdk bundle create my-bundle
zeysdk bundle create --all
zeysdk bundle create my-bundle --apps app-one,app-two

Error Handling

ErrorDescriptionResolution
No directoriesCurrent folder has no directoriesNavigate to a folder with apps
No valid appsNo ZeyOS app directories foundVerify app directory structure
Invalid appRequested app is missing or invalidCheck the --apps list
Invalid selectionNo apps selectedSelect at least one app
Write errorBundle file could not be createdCheck write permissions

Notes

  • A valid app directory must contain zeyos.app.json
  • The app manifest must include identifier and name
  • Hidden directories are skipped during discovery
  • node_modules and vendor are ignored during discovery
  • --apps expects directory names relative to the current folder
  • --all takes precedence when used together with --apps
  • An existing output file is replaced; choose the path carefully

Best Practices

  • Create bundles from a stable parent folder that contains all target apps
  • Use descriptive bundle filenames for release or environment targets
  • Use --all for repeatable automation when every app in the folder should be included
  • Use --apps when a deployment bundle should contain only selected applications
